Hair loss is often considered one of the worst aspects of cancer treatment, severely affecting a woman’s self esteem.

Now, one company which makes hair extensions is offering a subsidised service for cancer patients.

The cost of a full head of extensions will start at £150 and, because the hair is reusable, it should last between six and 12 months. Women who have hair two inches or longer are eligible.

The company is looking for 100 women to take part in a pilot of the programme.

Once completed, the service will be rolled out to about 5,000 salons in the UK and it is hoped it will be offered through the NHS.

For more information, call Racoon International on 01295 770999.

There are also witch and sorceress wigs. These wigs complement the costumes and add to the bizarre effect.

Costume wigs are only complete with the mustaches, beards, eyebrows and sideburns. These are available as standalone or as sets with the wigs.

They are trendy, are a great fashion statement and add give a great look to your hair. Yes, they are the quintessential hair extensions. If you have short hair and having a fetish for long hair, hair extensions are just perfect for you. But sometimes it can be tough to remove hair extensions. So read on to find out more about how to remove hair extensions and general hair extension removal.

How to Remove Hair Extensions
Hair is an asset for all of us. If you have great hair, it adds to your look, and people can absolutely go gaga over it. But if your hair is thinning or just for the fun of it, and you want to give yourself a makeover, hair extensions or artificial hair integrations are the way to go. Hair extension is a way to add artificial or commercial hair to natural hair. When it comes to types of hair fibers, they include Kanekalon and Toyokalon. Hair extensions are also made from natural hair, but they are expensive than the synthetic hair extensions. And synthetic hair extensions are available in a range of colors and textures. On the other hand, human hair is available in different grades and are also sometimes advertised by their ethnic origin. Some of the examples of packaged textures in artificial hair include-

Yaki: This type is straight and resembles or mimics the relaxed texture of Afro-Carribean hair.

European: This is less straight than Asian hair. It is straight and might have a tiny bit of wave.

Deep Wave: It is normally not a true wave, but can be made to look like spiral waves.

Loose Deep Wave or Romance Wave: This is a version which is looser than the deep wave. These are soft, romantic curls.

Jheri Curl: A total ‘afro’ look can be obtained by these jheri curls and they are normally sold in short lengths. They are also called nappy tracks colloquially.

Wet and Wavy: These are mostly packaged as Spanish or Indian wave. These are typically described as having soft, natural looking curls which become curly state when wet. Generally human hair is used in this.

Now I am sure you are tearing your hair now, thinking about why am I not telling you how to remove hair extensions and going on rambling about the types of hair extensions. So here is all about hair extension removal.

Removing Hair Extensions

For removing hair extensions, you should have at your disposal scissors, hair glue dissolver or hair extension remover and a wide tooth comb.

For Glued Extensions
For glued-in hair extensions, apply the glue dissolver at extension’s base, the point where you started attaching it from. Keep on working on it until the extension starts loosening. Then use the comb to carefully comb out the extension. Use your fingers to untangle the extensions form your hair gently. Please be as gentle as possible, as you would not want to lose your hair, do you?

Sewn-in Extensions
Sewn-in extensions are a bit complicated and are a bit difficult to remove. This is because of the simple reason that your natural hair will most probably be braided to the scalp. And then in these braids, the extensions are sewn in. You would have to identify and find the thread, which has been sewn in your natural hair. Now using the scissors, cut that thread. Be careful not to chop off your hair. Then gently pull away the extension rows from your hair. Continue this process until you get rid of all the sewn-in extensions. Now throughly comb your hair and loosen them up. This will help the removal of the shed hair that was stuck up because of the hair extensions. Finally, shampoo and use a deep conditioner after washing your hair with a shampoo. When it comes to sewn-in hair, any kind of hair extension removal tool, like pliers of different types, pulling needle, and others can be used to tackle hair extensions. So, that was a brief compilation of pointers on how to remove hair extensions.

I hope you are now not tangled in issues with regards to hair extension removal. Practice a proper hair care method while doing all this and have great hair!

Next time do not worry about removing hair extensions – go for them, if that’s going to make you look smashing!
